The Music Education Hub vision responds to the National Plan for Music and so the core and extension roles are laid out in this framework. The partners and collaborators in hub activity are developing and creating partnerships, projects, events, programmes and provision that brings together experience, expertise and creativity in the most productive way for young people of all ages in the county. Our ultimate goal is for every child in the county to be able to access a wide range of musical opportunities, some that interact with other arts and cultural arenas, and that all those opportunities are exciting and engaging and inspire them and others to do more!
Our network is looking to find more connections between existing activities and organisations and to foster new ideas to expand the range of musical endeavour in the county. All organisations, institutions, groups and individuals with a musical element are welcome to affiliate to the hub and contribute and gain access to the network of partners and the support structure that the hub can provide. The affiliation form is available here.
BLTM is tasked by the Arts Council as the core organisation for the hub and in this role seeks to provide network administration; marketing and publicity for programmes and events; professional support for groups and practitioners; expertise in kind for projects and events; sharing of physical resources (instruments, music, facilities) to support activities; seed funding for sustainable projects; support for bid-writing & grant applications and extensive training and development opportunities for individuals, schools and groups.
The Partnership Group meets once per term and all partners are invited to attend to share ideas and discuss ways to work together. We will also be convening smaller sub-networks with particular interests and focus that may be ongoing or exist for a fixed period of time to achieve specific goals. If you want to be involved, please ensure to affiliate to the Hub and as a member you will receive all this information.
