The Brass Academy Summer Course is being held at the Yehudi Menuhin School near Cobham, Surrey from Monday 1st – Friday 5th August. Our Summer Course provides specialist brass tuition for brass players aged 8 to 18 of Grade 1 to Grade 8 ability; we will also be running The Workshop, an advanced and intensive course which stretches and challenges those who have passed their Grade 8 or Diploma.
The Summer Course can be attended on a day or residential basis. Residential places are filling up fast and they will almost certainly be sold out the early booking discount deadline of 13 May. Usually, about half the children on the Summer Course are teenagers.
Our team of tutors on our Summer Course includes Philippe Schartz (Principal Trumpet at The BBC Orchestra of Wales); Dan Newell (Trumpet at the LSO); Byron Fulcher (Principal Trombone at the Philharmonia Orchestra); Simon Morgan (horn player at The Lion King); and Pete Smith (Principal Tuba of the Philharmonia). We are also delighted to have Phil Cobb, Principal Trumpet at the LSO, with us one day. All our tutors are outstanding professional brass players who are also brilliant at working with and inspiring and educating children.
